Presenter FAQs

Common Questions
— Answered

I've never presented at a conference before
MRX Africa actively encourages first-time presenters. The Programme Committee provides coaching notes on acceptance, a rehearsal slot is available before your session, and the audience is supportive and collegial — not adversarial. Many of our best papers are first-time presentations.
My data is confidential — can I still present?
Yes. Many of our best presentations anonymise the plant name and specific production volumes while retaining the methodology and results that matter. Contact learn@tmiafrica.org before submitting and we'll guide you on what level of detail is appropriate.
I'm an academic, not an industry practitioner
Academic and research submissions are very welcome — particularly applied research with direct industrial relevance. The Programme Committee includes academic reviewers. Frame your work around its practical applicability to African operations for the strongest score.
What if my abstract is rejected?
All rejected abstracts receive reviewer feedback explaining the decision. You are welcome to resubmit a revised abstract within the submission window. The most common reason for rejection is insufficient clarity about the specific results or findings — not the quality of the work itself.
